Getting around
Personal tips
Adrienne has created The Little Guidebook Lebanon — a small personal guide full of photos and tips about her favourite places. It’s available in print in Belgium and Lebanon and includes suggestions for Beirut and beyond. Just text us directly to receive it in pdf or pick one up.
Tour Guide
If you’d like to discover Lebanon (or Syria) with a guide, we can highly recommend TourLeb . They organise customised visits and can show you the real Lebanon. Tourleb is a socially responsible tour operator of locals, storytellers, foodies, dog rescuers, nature lovers. 100% of the money locals ask for – they receive.
Get Inspired
Beirut
Walk around Gemmayze, Mar Mikhael, and Achrafieh — full of cafés, galleries, and old houses. Don’t miss Bourj Hammoud for its Armenian shops and bakeries, Downtown for a quick stroll, or Manara for a sunset by the sea.
→ Where to stay: look for an Airbnb or hotel around Achrafieh, Gemmayze, Mar Mikhael, or Geitawi.
The South
Chouf is a must — full of beautiful villages and cedar forests. For Saida and Tyr (Sour), it’s best to stay updated on the situation before travelling there, as it can change.
The North
From Harissa to Jbeil (Byblos), Batroun, Tripoli, Douma, Tannourine, Bcharre, and the Cedars, this area offers stunning landscapes, historic towns, and beautiful old houses.
The Beqaa Valley
A different scenery, greener and more rural — Ammiq, Taanayel, and the extraordinary Baalbek ruins (also check the situation before going).
